Overview

Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET) will be conducted by Andhra University (AU), Visakhapatnam on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher education (APSCHE) in the month of May 2019. AP PGECET 2019 will be conducted in CBT mode for admission into post-graduate courses in the field of engineering, technology, and pharmacy offered in Universities/ Private Colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh. All candidates must note that the primary preference for admission into post-graduate courses will be given to GATE/GPAT qualified candidates and then if any vacancies left, will be allotted to the AP PGECET 2019 merit rank holders.

Eligibility

Applicants for AP PGECET 2019 must check the Eligibility Criteria before applying. Check the Educational Qualifications and other eligibility details of AP PGECET Notification 2019.

Nationality:

  • Candidates should be Indian National or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
  • Candidates must be residents of Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana and should satisfy Local / Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh / Telangana. 

Educational Qualifications:

  • They should have obtained a relevant Bachelor’s qualifying degree or its equivalent in the relevant field with at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category candidates) from an AICTE/UGC approved institution recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent.
  • Candidates who are pursuing a B. Pharmacy course shall be eligible for entry into the M. Pharmacy/ Pharm. D (PB) courses provided they have completed the prescribed course and passed all the subjects for the award of degree by the concerned university on the date of counselling for admission into the colleges.

Pattern & Syllabus

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) releases the syllabus of AP PGECET every year. The exam is conducted for 14 disciplines. No changes have been notified in paper pattern or syllabus as yet.

AP PGECET 2019 Exam Pattern

Exam Mode: Computer Based Test

Type of questions: The AP PGECET 2019 is paper pattern will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ's), where the candidates will have to select one answer to every question from 4 options available.

Language: English

Time Duration: The total time duration of the AP PGECET 2019 test is 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours. The candidate will have to complete the AP PGECET test within the given time period. No additional time will be provided to the candidates for attempting the test.

Total Questions: A total of 120 questions will be asked in the AP PGECET 2019 examination.

Total marks: Each question carries a weightage of 1 mark, thus, the total maximum possible score in AP PGECET 2019 is 160.

Marking Scheme: For a correct answer, one mark will be given to the candidates. There will be no negative marking.

Traversing between Questions: While attempting the AP PGECET 2019 Exam, the candidates can navigate back and forth from one question to another. There is no hard and fast rule to go on from one question to next in a sequence.

How To Apply

The application form for AP PGECET 2019 will be provided on the official website sche.ap.gov.in. from March 2019. Candidates are informed that AP PGECET 2019 application form is available through online mode only. No printed applications will be announced for AP PGECET 2019. Aadhaar card is mandatory while filling the online application form. Candidates should save the print copy of the application form future use.

Application Fee: Applicants have to pay Rs. 1000/- against the application form. For SC/ST candidates, the application fee will be Rs. 500/-. The candidate who wishes to apply for multiple tests needs to pay a separate registration fee for each test. The application fee can be paid through AP Online center or through credit/debit card.

Things to Keep Ready Before Filling AP PGECET 2019 Application Form:

Candidates will be required to keep the following things ready before filling the application form of AP PGECET 2019. By keeping the documents ready with them, the candidates will be able to refer while filling the application form. The scanned copies of the photograph and signature have to be uploaded as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities. 

  • AP Online Transaction Id. (if payment is being made by cash through AP Online Centre).
  • Credit or Debit card details (If payment is being made through Credit card/Debit card/Net Banking).
  • Qualifying Examination appeared or passed.
  • Hall ticket Number of the Qualifying Examination.
  • Examination paper chosen for entrance test (AP PGECET).
  • Date of Birth, Birth District, Birth State.
  • Hall Ticket Number of SSC or Equivalent examination Certificate.
  • Local Status (OU/AU/SVU/ Non-local).
  • Income of Parents (Income Up to Rs.1.0 lac or Upto Rs. 2.0 lacs).
  • Study Details.
  • Category (SC, ST, BC, etc.) and application number of the Caste Certificate (in case of SC/ST /BC only).
  • Special Category (NCC, PH, Sports, CAP, etc.) Certificate.
  • Aadhaar Card details.
  • Ration Card Details.
  • Passport size photograph.
  • Signature.

How to Fill AP PGECET 2019 Application Form

Here, we have provided the application procedure of AP PGECET 2019 in simple steps:

Step 1: Visit Official Link

  • Open the official portal of AP PGECET 2019.
  • Before moving towards the application form, go through the user guide to acquaint yourself with the application procedure.

Step 2: Fee Payment

There are two modes available for fee payment:

Step 2.1: Through AP Online Center

  • Candidates opting this mode of payment are required to visit the AP Online center.
  • Visit your nearby AP Center along with the prescribed fee.
  • At the time of fees submission, candidates have to provide details like Name, Father’s Name, Mobile number, Date of Birth, SSC Hall Ticket Number and Month & Year of passing SSC.
  • Collect the receipt.
  • Visit official website.
  • Click “Apply Online” tab and select the tab “Click here if paid through AP Online.
  • Select payment source, enter transaction ID and other requisite details.
  • Click Proceed to get the application form.

Step 2.2: Through Credit Card/Debit Card

  • Click on “Apply Online” tab.
  • Select the tab “Click here to pay online through Debit/Credit card” and Click “Proceed to pay the fee through payment gateway using Credit/Debit card”.
  • Now, select the number of tests, SSC Hall Ticket Number and Month & Year of passing SSC, Name, Father’s Name, Mobile number, Date of Birth, Category (Others/SC/ST) and card type (Visa/Master/Maestro).
  • Thereafter, click on “Make Payment”.
  • Complete your transaction by following all the instructions given there.
  • Click the tab namely “Click here to fill the application form” to get the application form.

Step 3: Fill AP PGECET Application Form

Step 3.1: Fill Personal and Academic Details

  • Qualifying Degree & Specialization in Qualifying Degree
  • Test Appearing in PGECET
  • Parent’s Annual Income
  • Candidate details including name, SSC hall ticket number, place of SSC study, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, DOB, test center and aadhar number.

Step 3.2: Upload Scanned Images

  • Photograph: Scanned copy of photograph with file size less than 40 KB in JPEG format.
  • Signature: Scanned copy of signature with file size less than 30 KB and must be in JPEG format.
  • Select the file & click on upload button.

Step 4: Submit the Application Form

  • Submit your details and preview your application form.
  • Note down the registration ID.
  • For final submit, click on “Confirm” button.
  • After successful submission of application, Candidate’s will receive an SMS regarding the same on their registered mobile number.

Correction in application form

A correction window will be provided to the candidates who wish to make changes in their already submitted application form. The corrections can be made only till the window is open and no request for change in the application will be entertained afterward. However, there are certain details that cannot be changed by the candidates themselves and they will have to make a written request for the same to the convener through email. Proper documents in relevance to these fields must also be sent. Such field includes:
